LJ is in the dust and DW is, for whatever interest in it there is, just a mirror of LJ. People have always seen it as simply the storage space for their LiveJournals and really never have started "using" it. I don't know that they ever will, until LJ is physically gone.

I swear though, celebrities are the key. If there were a bunch of celebs that chose to use LiveJournal the way they all got twitter accounts, everyone would be here. You could still post at 140 characters an entry so it's not like you couldn't keep your LJ posts "tweet" sized.

I do wonder about the "how long" part as well. DW got a boost with the Russian TOS issue this past December as a bunch more people got accounts there. I guess that means they're good for at least one more year...
