A Visit with cynnerth and <user site="livejournal.com" user="lo

Sunday, May 15 2016 and Cyn and Kevin, aka cynnerth and low_delta were in town, had a bit of free time that afternoon and evening and we spent an unseasonably cold afternoon and evening together!



They had spent the day on Ellis Island, and I headed towards that general area. We eventually met up at Washington Square Park.

We walked to a great Scottish bar/restaurant called Highlands on W. 10th (right next door to the Van Leeuwen Ice Cream shop, which was doing business as brisk as the temperature) I didn't snap many pics but had to have a few!

We sampled some pretty terrific food. They had haggis for their entrees, which looked really good. I opted for a little angus steak.

I presented Kevin with a present, a couple of bottles of Scotch - and he had to refuse because he had no checked luggage for this trip. I'm arranging a shipment.

The weather turned practically blustery, so there were no takers for the Ice Cream... but we wound up going to Serendipity3 later anyhow! The famed Andy Warhol co-founded restaurant served up a couple of orders of Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, and a Birthday Carrot Cake for Kevin...

It was really terrific of them to say hi and put up with the weather abuse, the NYC subways and the walking for a night, and it's great to have an excuse to post something to LiveJournal!

We always have a good time when we meet up with you, Dean! I'm sorry you had to wait so long for us to show up, though. The Scotch was such a generous and perfect gift for Kevin. You nailed it! You also make an excellent tour guide for your city. Thank you :)

Waiting is never an issue. We're always prepared to wait - it comes with the territory around here! It was great to see you both and catch up a bit. And thanks for getting me back on LJ. A visit beats a meme by a whole lot!

I had just read Cyn's post about their NYC trip and it was great to then read yours, complete with pics, thank you! And now I know where to meet up with you if I ever get to New York (was there once, in the 80's): Serendipity3! Although it's more likely we'd meet up if you decide to move to L.A.
